Design ToolsAqueduct Image

The Designor family of products allows you to create, maintain, reverse engineer, and document databases for over 30 different DBMSs including: Sybase, Oracle, Informix, Ingres, DB/2, Watcom SQL, SQL Server, Paradox, Access, FoxPro, and dBASE. Database generation is accomplished via a DDL script or directly through ODBC. These products also allow you to manage all physical characteristics of the databases such as triggers, stored procedures, views, physical storage properties, and user-defined business rules.

S-Designor 5.0 ProcessAnalyst
ProcessAnalyst models are easy to build and maintain and streamline communication among all participants in the application development cycle. The tool enables users to describe complex process models that match their database models. By expressing the processes that exist in a system and describing the data they exchange, ProcessAnalyst can be used to elaborate data items in a more natural way. These data items may be transferred to and from S-Designor DataArchitect for complete analysis and design.

S-Designor 5.0 DataArchitect
DataArchitect provides traditional data modeling capabilities, including database design, generation, maintenance, reverse-engineering and documentation for database architects. It enables database designers to create flexible, efficient and effective data structures for use by an application's database engine.
DataArchitect offers conceptual data model design, automatic physical data model generation, denormalized physical design, multiple database management system (DBMS) and development tool support, and presentation-quality reporting features. Using its reverse engineering capabilities, a designer can obtain a "blueprint" of a database's structure to document and maintain the database or migrate to a different DBMS. These features ensure an optimal database structure for developing large, complex applications.

S-Designor 5.0 AppModeler
S-Designor AppModeler teams with leading client/server development tools to accelerate development and enhance application quality. By leveraging any database model, AppModeler generates client/server applications based upon a class library. Additionally, AppModeler offers database generation, maintenance, and reporting for more than 30 database management systems (DBMSs). The AppModeler module allows developers to: Since AppModeler uses the same environment as S-Designor DataArchitect's physical data model, the developer can seamlessly use the database designer's work to leverage design into development. To accelerate development, AppModeler can generate applications for the target environment based upon the physical database model and a class library. AppModeler allows developers to lay a solid foundation for client/server applications and facilitates code re-usability through standardization. AppModeler currently supports application generation for PowerBuilder 4.0 and 5.0 and will soon support generation for other development tools.
To ensure synchronization between design and development, the database structure and extended attribute information defined in AppModeler can be easily transferred to and from the development tool's dictionary.

S-Designor 5.0 MetaWorks
Consistency is the key to successful large-scale client/server projects. To ensure consistency, Powersoft's S-Designor 5.0 MetaWorks complements the other S-Designor modules by providing extended team and dictionary management capabilities.

MetaWorks is designed for each member of the project team: data administrators, database administrators, designers and developers.
The module provides a global and hierarchical view of all modeling objects to ensure consistency and stability throughout the development cycle. MetaWorks provides user profile definition and access rights management including model locking security. The module also includes MetaBrowser, a flexible dictionary browser for viewing all modeling information across projects and Powersoft's ObjectCycle for version control.
